Another Scarab

As previously mentioned I draw a lot of scarabs in the hope that one day I will draw one I like enough to get as a tattoo. So this is the latest. I need to refine this sketch and than scan and piece 2 halves together, than ink that on different paper and decide if I should colour it. Seems like lots of work for something that I probably will not do anything with lol :p

And we have life!! But we don't remember what these are :p The container got turned around so we don't know what was the end we started at. But most of the flowers we are trying to grow are pretty easy to identify *crosses fingers* And we did say that we were going to use popsicle sticks so we knew what plant was what. oops :p

  1. I love all things egyptian and that is such a beautiful scarab! I can still see its beauty amidst all the scribbles haha!

Where are you thinking of getting it tattoo-d? I'm not sure if it should have colour though.

I've always been off and on with tattoos, I just keep envisioning myself really old with blobs of colour on wrinkly, hanging skin!!.. I think it's also because I don't know where I'd put it and I don't know what I'd get, but it would definitely have to be something I have personally designed!!.. no way I am having something permanent put onto my body from a flick book where millions of other people may have too!
Sometimes I really want a dramatic one, like my entire back but if I regretted it, which I can see myself doing so, I'd go bonkers as I get bored so easily.

  2. If I ever do draw one I don't think I would be bored with after a few months, I would love to have one on my back. But I have lots of freckles and sometimes that can be tricky to tattoo around.

Yeah I think just having this one monochrome would look better than colouring it.

lol, yeah trying to find a spot that is not going to go south and wrinkly is going to be hard for me.

Get a tattoo done with henna to see if it looks right?

  3. Yeah that's a good idea! I will need to design it first though, I've always had a lotus in my mind, because it's the definition of my middle name.. but I'd need to design something more special.

I'm quite good at withstanding pain, but I don't think I could handle getting a tattoo.. I'd rather have one big burst of pain, then thousands of annoying pin pricks.. I think!

  4. Oooh! This scarab looks like it'll turn out really nice, I love drawings like this.

I never label my starter plants either and usually just before planting time I kick myself because there's always a few of them that look alike. Popsicle sticks are a good idea though! :D

  5. Yeah not sure if I could take the pain either. My sister has a few tattoos and 2 on the top of her feet which you would have thought hurt a lot. I was with her when she had one of them done and besides a few times where her foot wanted to twitch she said it didn't hurt that much. I want a tattoo, but would rather just get something else pierced (I want my septum pierced really badly) Lotus tattoos can be really nice, and that would def. be one to design yourself :)

I love drawing tattoo flash Rita, its a lot of fun :) The only plant that we made sure to label was the pot with the Foxglove in it. Don't want anyone accidentally getting ill by touching the plant and than their mouth. :/
