*Dances* I really like how this turned out. Love the bright colours of the background. I will definitely be doing more pieces like this. Match the background colours to either the birds plumage or to the birds natural environment.

I think I will do an owl next. Not sure exactly what type of owl. Probably a Snowy Owl as they are my favorite owls. So will probably use a lot of blues and purples on the background for that.

Anyone have a title suggestion. I was going to just title this Rainbow Bird #1, but it doesn't really suit the artwork.

  1. It is fabulous, I love it :) A snowy owl sounds good.I went looking for some reference for stuff like that the other day, if I come across any good ones I'll post them up.

I am not going down that route for now, I have decided to keep going with my people, I kind of quite like doing people :)

  2. thanks :)

I have dozens of photos of birds from the local wildlife centre and the fair that was at Glamis Castle. Would you like me to post some when you start going down that route? (some are better than others lol) People and birds? ;) If you come across any pictures I am always looking for good reference material, so do post them :D

  3. Did you find out if it is a golden eagle? Maybe call it 'golden'? This turned out great. So glad you have another in the works. An owl sounds fun to do, I'll be looking forward to seeing it :)

  5. Nice finish! I was thinking along the lines of 'The Watcher', 'Magestic' or something like that. 'Golden' would work though.

Have you tried the WC Image Library for reference pics?

The snowy owl sounds good with blues and purples in the background.

    That is a fabulous result!
Don't you think he would look good framed and hanging in the new flat?

Wow nice work! I like how the background isn't just solid colour, those 'cracks' make it all look much more natural.
