Weekly Book Wrap Up

Failed reading 100 books this year, but 96 is pretty good so I don't feel too bad about not making it. I think if I hadn't of had a migraine the last 2 days I might have met the goal. Smaller goal for next years reading challange. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell My rating: 4 of 5 stars Yes some parts of this story are a little depressing and bleak but...because its told from the perspective of a horse, you get a better idea what they go through in life, which can be dark but there are times of happiness as well. I can't even remember how many times I have read this story, I loved it as a kid, reading it again now tho I can see how dark some parts can be and not much has changed sadly in the treatment of animals. Still, its a good story and you really start to care what happens to Beauty. Fortress in the Eye of Time by C.J. Cherryh My rating: 1 of 5 stars Slow, boring, pointless characters, confusing plot. Why does this get as high of a rating here as it does? I&#

Spikey #5

Image
I really wanted to get more work on this dragon done today, but I spent almost all day with a migraine and a twitching eye. My own fault really for eating a cheap Jaffa cake . Did manage to get a bit of work done on the face but have to figure out a plan for the back legs. From the side he sort of looks like he is getting ready to make a jump but the proportions are slightly off for that, so need to fix his back legs. Either add more "clay" to the  model or bend the legs a bit where the pelvis should be. The head is back to being spikey, but still need to add more spikes and scales to him.

Sketch #337 & #338

Two more dog toys for my 365 challenge. Well they are kids toys used for dog toys since they are cheaper and seem to last longer than dog toys lol A giraffe puppet above and only half of a little Border Collie plushie below.

Xmas Dog Toys

More dog toys to sketch for my 365 challenge. Always handy when Sky gets new toys, gives me more things to draw. The above toy is supposed to be a fox I think because of the bushy tail. The sketch below is supposed to be a monkey I think, because of the twisty tail lol

Wingless

I did end up taking the wings off of the dragon and it def. looks better without them. I ended up loosing detail, but that is easy enough to fix, just need to go back over the lines that are already there. This is supposed to be a penguin in a present, but really looks more like a really happy kid lol with no nose.

Weekly Book Wrap Up

Possibly to read six books in a week, probably not lol   Adulthood Is a Myth by Sarah Andersen My rating: 4 of 5 stars The whole time reading this all I could think was, did the author stalk me to make the comics lol The little comics are my life drawn out. Laughed quite a lot reading this. Editorial Design: For Print and Electronic Media by Yolanda Zappaterra My rating: 3 of 5 stars Nice examples of different types of magazine spreads and worth reading what the people involved with creating the magazine have to say. Possibly a little dated but still good to see the different styles of working. The Worrier's Guide to Life by Gemma Correll My rating: 3 of 5 stars Not hilariously funny, but still got a few laughs out of it. Some of the little comics felt forced to try to get a laugh, but the simple art style works well with the jokes that do work. Currently Reading: The Lie Tree by Fr
